About

An international finswimming network

FinSwim.World brings together clubs, associations and young federations to promote and develop finswimming at every level, from first lessons to world championships.

Our vision

A world where everyone can swim like a dolphin

We see finswimming recognised as a major aquatic sport and open to everyone: in every country, in every pool, for people of every age, ability and background. Strong, self-sustaining clubs and federations make the sport grow wherever there is water.

Our mission

We bring finswimming to new people and new places, and help the organisations behind it become strong enough to last.

We share the knowledge of a lifetime in finswimming, as athlete, coach and sport leader, with athletes, coaches, clubs and federations worldwide. We:

  • teach the sport through open articles and tutorials, bootcamps, clinics and remote coaching;
  • open the water to people with disabilities and from vulnerable groups, at any age, with free inclusive programmes and an equipment library;
  • help clubs and federations become independent, through EU projects, fundraising and good management;
  • reinvest everything we earn into the sport and the people it serves.

The clubs behind FinSwim.World

FinSwim.World grows out of two Zagreb finswimming clubs: they are where every programme is tested before we offer it to others, and they hold the track record of our European projects.

Komet was founded in 2011 by the finswimmers of Diving Club Geronimo, where it had started as the finswimming section. From 2011 to 2015, with the support of the City of Zagreb, it ran the "Zagreb Finswimming Saturdays": seminars with world-class finswimmers and coaches, the Croatian club championship and international training camps with athletes from Croatia, Serbia and Slovenia.

  • Finswimming from beginner to competitive level, with inclusive and adapted programmes
  • Croatian club champion 2016; the same year Kristijan Tomić won world silver and, with Adrijan Omićević, reached the World Championship finals in three events
  • International bootcamps since 2013 in Spain, Tunisia, Tanzania, Kenya, Algeria, Bosnia and Kosovo
  • Helped found national finswimming federations in Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda and Romania
  • Coordinator of Erasmus+ Sport projects since 2018 (Aurora, Aurora Adriatic, Mermaids for Inclusion, BalkanSplash, C-BEST) and partner in many others, such as SPOT
